"As part of Mr. Cummings' academic file, I want to
provide some
evaluative comments on the materials and on his oral defense. "First, the essay titled 'Shades of Journalism,' which was a history and criticism of literary journalism as practiced by some of its leading writers, was excellent. Corin chose appropriate figures to examine. His conclusions indicated that he had read and understood a tremendous bibliography of materials. Although we discussed things such as objectivity for quite a while in the examination, I found very little to critcize in his written materials. His essay was better researched, and made more sense, than several scholarly papers I've seen presented at conventions by professors." --Norman Sims.
